Changelog
v1.4.1 —
Bulk Search and Power Search now share a single Search page, you can follow us on Instagram and YouTube, and we've added Privacy, Terms, and attribution pages.
New
- Find us on social media. Follow MTG Burrow on Instagram and YouTube — the links now appear on the home page and in the site footer.
- Privacy, Terms, and attribution pages. New pages covering how we handle your data, the terms of using the site, and Magic: The Gathering and card-data attributions — all linked from the footer.
Improved
- One Search page for both search styles. Bulk Search (paste a card list) and Power Search now sit side by side on the Search page — just pick a mode at the top. Power Search used to be tucked away under Utilities.
- "Power Search" is its new name. What used to be called "Deck Builder Search" now reads "Power Search" everywhere on the site.
- My Collection is on by default. Bulk Search now checks your own collection out of the box, so you see what you own without an extra tap.
v1.4.0 —
ManaPool buy buttons across Search, Set Completion, and the Deck Builder, plus a new Unowned section in Deck Builder Search that shows you the cards you'd need to complete your query.
New
- Unowned section in Deck Builder Search. Results now have two sections — cards you, your friends, or your group already own, and a new Unowned section listing every card the query matched that nobody in scope owns. Your hand and your shopping list, side by side.
- One-click ManaPool buy buttons. Each unowned card in Deck Builder Search, each missing card in Set Completion, and each Search result nobody in scope owns now has a small ManaPool button that opens that exact printing on manapool.com.
- "Buy missing on ManaPool" deeplink in Set Completion. A new button on the set detail view opens manapool.com pre-loaded with everything you're missing — for the whole set or per-subset on bundled releases. The existing copy buttons still work.
- At-a-glance ownership colors in Deck Builder results. Cards are gently tinted by who owns them: green for your collection, yellow for friends/groups only, red for unowned. Subtle enough that the card art still reads cleanly.
- Independent pagination for Owned and Unowned sections. Flipping through your shopping list doesn't reset your position in the cards you already own.
- Pasted input shown on fuzzy matches in Search. When the resolver auto-corrects a typo, hovering the matched card shows the exact line you pasted next to the match.
Improved
- Pager buttons land you at the right place. Deck Builder Previous/Next now smoothly scrolls to the top of the section you just paged.
- Trade Mode hint when nobody is selectable. Turning on Trade Mode with no friend or group selected now tells you why no cards can be picked, instead of leaving the badges grey.
- Mana cost pips. Mana costs render as proper colored pips in places where they used to show as plain `{2}{U}{U}` text.
Fixed
- Signing out goes home, not to login. Signed-out users now land on the public home page instead of bouncing through the sign-in form.
- Trade rows with missing set or collector number self-heal. Older trades with blank set codes or collector numbers now fill themselves in, so card images and links work.
- Double-faced card images on Search. Cards with duplicated front-face names now load their images correctly.
v1.3.2 —
The Deck Builder Search now understands a lot more of Scryfall's filter syntax, lets you sort your results in more useful ways, and keeps the Sort controls right next to your cards.
New
- More `is:` filters. Find foils and non-foils, promos, prereleases, FNM cards, masterpieces, full-art and showcase printings, double-faced and split cards, oathbreaker- and brawler-legal cards, and many more — dozens of new flags, all with `not:` versions for excluding.
- Sort by EDHREC Rank, Price, or Random. New sort options for EDHREC Rank, Price (USD), Price (EUR), Price (TIX), and Random. Random reshuffles every page so you can rediscover cards you forgot you owned.
- More query directives. Filter by `lang:`, `border:`, `frame:`, `stamp:`, and `game:` to narrow down a specific printing.
- GUI picker for `is:` filters. A new searchable dropdown on the GUI Filters tab lets you pick `is:` flags without typing — they're grouped by category so you don't have to remember every flag name.
- Helpful warnings instead of silent drops. If you type a filter we don't fully support yet, like `is:shockland` or `is:fetchland`, we'll tell you it's "pending" instead of pretending the filter ran.
Improved
- Sort controls live next to your results. The Sort By and Sort Order dropdowns moved into the results toolbar, so you can re-sort without scrolling back to the top of the page.
- Sort changes update results automatically. Pick a different sort field and the results refresh on the spot — no need to click Search Collection again.
- Sort gets overridden when your query says so. If your text query includes `order:` or `direction:`, a small badge on the Sort By dropdown tells you the query is in charge.
Fixed
- `is:foil` actually finds your foils now. The previous version returned every card whether it was foil-available or not. It now correctly matches only foil-available printings, and it runs much faster too.
- Sort by EDHREC Rank, Price (EUR), Price (TIX), and Price (USD) all work. Each of those sort options used to fail with an error. They now sort correctly, with unpriced or unranked cards sent to the end of an ascending sort.
v1.3.1 —
The Deck Builder Search now understands a lot more of Scryfall's filter syntax — color identity, mana cost, loyalty, parity, and cross-field comparisons all return the cards you'd expect.
New
- 50+ new `is:` filter values. Behavioral flags like `is:etb`, `is:modal`, `is:bear`, `is:leveler`, `is:token`, `is:adventure`, `is:party`, `is:outlaw`, and `is:funny`. Printing flags like `is:promo`, `is:masterpiece`, `is:hires`, `is:textless`, `is:prerelease`, `is:fnm`, and `is:etched`. Format flags like `is:brawler`, `is:oathbreaker`, and `is:duelcommander`. The `not:` counterpart of every flag works too.
- Warnings for unsupported filters. Type an `is:` or `not:` filter we don't recognize and a toast tells you which one was dropped. The rest of your query still runs.
Fixed
- Color identity (`id:`) filters work correctly. `id:ub` and `id:esper` now return cards whose color identity fits within the colors you picked, instead of demanding every color be present or letting extra colors slip through.
- Exact color identity matches (`id=`). `id=ub` returns only cards whose identity is exactly {U, B} — no mono-colored cards, no three-color cards.
- Color filters with `c:` actually filter now. `c:ub`, `c=`, `c<=`, and `-c:red` narrow your results the way Scryfall describes them. They previously had no effect.
- Mana cost substring filters (`m:`, `mana:`). `m:2WW` and `mana:{G}{U}` find cards with that mana cost.
- Loyalty filters (`loy:`, `loy=`). `loy=3`, `loy>=3`, and `loy<3` find planeswalkers by their starting loyalty.
- Even and odd mana values (`mv:even`, `mv:odd`). Filter by the parity of a card's mana value.
- Count-of-colors filters. `colors=4` returns four-colored cards like Atraxa and Breya. `id<=1` returns colorless and monocolored cards.
- Cross-field comparisons. `pow>tou`, `loy>mv`, and other comparisons between two numeric fields work. Cards with variable stats like Tarmogoyf stay out of the comparison.
- Excluding exact card names (`-!Name`). `-!Counterspell` excludes only the card named exactly Counterspell, while still returning Counterspell Pact and Mana Counterspell.
v1.3.0 —
A new Set Completion utility shows you every card in a set, flags which ones you're missing, and copies the gap list straight into ManaPool or any plain-text import.
New
- Set Completion utility. A new tile on the Utilities page opens a picker listing every set you already own at least one card from. Pick a set to see every printing it contains, which ones you own, and which ones you still need.
- Copy the missing list in two formats. On the Utility_Set_Detail view, one button copies the missing cards as plain `quantity card_name` lines for any text import; another copies them in ManaPool's mass-entry format so you can paste straight into manapool.com/add-deck and buy what you still need.
- Per-constituent copy buttons. Bundled releases like *Lorwyn Eclipsed* group their main set, commander set, and Special Guests as one picker row. Inside the detail view, each subset has its own Plain and ManaPool buttons so you can copy just that slice without the others.
- Grouped or ungrouped picker view. Grouped rolls bundled releases up under one row; Ungrouped gives each Scryfall set its own row, matches filters against only that row, and opens the detail view scoped to just that set.
- Completion percentage, everywhere. Every picker row and the detail header show what percentage of the set you own. Sort the picker by completion (highest or lowest first), name, or release date.
- List mode and grid mode. Switch the detail view between a compact row list and a Scryfall-image grid. Grid mode has Small / Medium / Large size options that match the density of your Collection page.
- Collapse subsets. Each bundled subset has an expand/collapse toggle so you can focus on the constituent you're actually shopping for while keeping its counters and copy buttons visible.
- Foil toggle for copy output. Choose whether the copied list targets foil or non-foil printings. Cards with no foil version get a visible flag when foil mode is on, but stay in the copied list so you can decide how you want to buy them.
- Shareable deep links. The picker's sort and grouping choice, and the detail view's card size, list/grid mode, foil mode, and collapsed subsets all live on the URL — paste a link to a friend and they see the same view.
Improved
- Card hover previews in Set Completion. Hovering a card name in list mode pops up its Scryfall image, matching the preview behavior elsewhere on the site.
- Separate foil and non-foil ownership counts. Owned cards now show a non-foil count and a foil count as two distinct badges (foil gets a sparkle), so you can tell at a glance which finish you're still short on for a specific printing.
